Total Recall remake

Postby dirk8837 » Fri Jun 05, 2009 11:58 am

We were warned, and they meant it. A new version of Paul Verhoeven's wondrously violent sci-fi mindjob TOTAL RECALL is on the way. It's nearly a whole two decades old, and therefore requires a hot new cast and loads more CGI!

Writer Kurt Wimmer (EQUILIBRIUM, upcoming SALT) will be helping you remember it wholesale with what is only being described as a "contemporized adaptation" of the original Philip K. Dick story. Columbia and producer/noisemaker Neal Moritz (STEALTH, XXX) are plugging you into Rekall for some painful memory eradication.

The original modern classic starred Arnold Schwarzenegger as an average Joe/Quaid/Hauser whose implanted memory "vacation" uncorks his real personality as a secret agent. So he travels to Mars and meets a chick with three boobs, an irritating cabbie, a machinegunning midget whore and a guy with a greasy puppet in his chest, and then he slaughters almost everyone in sight and/or saves the planet.

Well apparently this is in the works at the moment, i'm not to much of a remake fan myself as they tend to be crap when compared to the original, i know there are a few good ones and lets hope this is in with those

They should leave well alone in my opinion on this one.
I finally got round to watching Tim Burton's Planet Of the Apes recently and was actually surprised at how much I enjoyed it. Not sure about the new ending though. I couldn't understand how there came to apes in the past? :confused

I personally liked the original Total Recall. I like all that new science stuff that they make up in the movies. I will have to wait and see who the new cast will be and see how it's going to be.

It's funny cause when I saw this thread I figured someone would say something about the lady with 3 tits... lol

I'm like the rest on this one. They should just leave well enough alone. I can't see it being better than the original.
