Monkey business....

I have become intrigued with the various primate designations that we users have here on Uncovered.
I only just noticed that I am Baboon...........

On looking around I see there are Marmosets, Tamarins, Chimps, then my family group - the Baboons and I was wondering does this go higher to primates such as Orang-utans and Great Apes?

If so how does one become such an honoured primate in the midst of the god-like residents and moderators (who are humans as opposed to lower animals)?

I believe that those ranks are based on the number of posts you have. I don't know what all the ranks are maybe dirk does.

Ahhh....well that explain it then. I thought it had to do with time one had been a member, I never considered it may be related to how many posts we had placed.

I'm not one for placing posts just to get my next primate badge so I won't be inundating the servers with useless questions and drivel, and I will not begin answering posts with perfunctory responses to up the count either. Honest....

What do you mean a rank? I can make one up - but where would it go...if you see what I mean. It's probably be something out of Douglas Adams Hitch Hiker's books, "A Hoopy Frood" would be a nice one...

I can certainly sort one out, how big (or small) does it have to be, and transparent or with your background colour?

I'd say no bigger that your avatar image. If it is too big I can always shrink it a little. Transparent PNG is probably the best.

OK Vince, I've got an image. I have supplied one png file, it has 3 of each of the images on it in both transparent and coloured background versions.

There is the original full sized -two armed version that you can resize if the other two are not right.
There is a small one and two-armed version (I made these to the same height as Tazz's 'Captain Caveman), they are well under my avatar size.

Of the both I prefer the two-armed green monster but whatever looks better will do.

One more thing though, if this will replace my Avatar I will be happy with just "A Hoopy Frood" there in 'capitals' if possible as I want my avatar to stay.

Believe it or not is is a sort of 'don't panic' logo for The Hitch Hiker Trilogy (in four parts).

This was not the image I was looking for but when I saw it I thought....'that's the one..' I took one of his arms off as well, as you saw, just to see what it was like. The phrase "A hoopy frood" is also out of the first Douglas Adams book.

As epitomised in the phrase: "Hey, sas that hooppy Jeff Davies, there's a frood who really knows where his towel is".

What I meant where what site did you find it on. I've been looking for some Hitchhikers images just like this.

Oh I see. I'm on my phone at the moment, when I'm next on the PC I'll try to find the place I found it. However, as I remember I just searched for Hitch Hikers Guide To The Galaxy images on Google.

sorry I can't be of more help. I've always wanted to do a cover for the BBC series but could never find decent artwork. I made great covers for the audio tapes (converted to CD) but never managed tie TV series.

Hi natsuto, I've been thinking it was a bit big, making it the same width as my avatar seemed like a good idea. I've made a new image and resized it so it looks like the preview here. I've upped it for you to use to change mine instead of resizing the original.
