Some of you who know me, know I do my own custom Title Treatments (TT) from time to time…

Some have asked how I do them…

This is a thread I am starting to let you in on some tricks and tips on how I accomplish some of these but I cannot show you everything because that would take up way too much of my time.

The easiest (TT) is to find the font they used to create the original title for the poster of the movie or DVD cover etc and use that…

Another is to find the biggest, clearest image of the poster or just the title you can find and cut the title out <- I prefer this one if I want to preserve the 3D effects of a title or other hard to reproduce techniques.

Now for the more advanced--if you cannot find the Font and you don’t want to use the poster as is (ie you want to make a custom TT) then you can again find the biggest, clearest image of the poster or just the title you can and then make custom paths around the characters guessing where the pixels would stop at the edge using the pen tool in Photoshop.

I try to use that last one as a last resort, because it does take a lot of time and tons of tweaking at times to get it to look just right.

I use Adobe Illustrator to do this, then for you folks I convert it over to Photoshop shapes for you at times, or just leave them as .EPS files that work both in Illustrator and Photoshop and other applications.

If loaded in Photoshop (.eps) files can be scaled to any size you want, just remember 'Place' them from the 'File Menu' so they become 'smart objects' and then they can be easily re-sized without distortion.

Shape files like my Spider-Man (TT) that I custom made, can be manipulated to look almost exactly like the poster if you know or experiment with filters and styles and techniques…

To see somewhat of what I am talking about please review the image below.

To have a clearer idea of how you can accomplish something like this please feel free to view the tutorial I created in the PDF below… and don’t hesitate to private message me if you have any questions.

P.S.
If you want any (.eps TT) I have made or someone else to a shape in (.psd) format let me know and I can get it done for you soon!

That was a recent change bud, we need all downloads in RAR's and all previews in JPG's so I disabled uploading of all file extensions except for those two, a unexpected side effect of that was it disabled displaying of existing attachments that are not either JPG or RAR.
