What deep thinking retired men do...........

I mowed the lawn today, and after doing so I sat down and had a cold beer.

The day was really quite beautiful, and the drink facilitated some deep thinking.

My wife walked by and asked me what I was doing, and I said 'nothing'.

The reason I said 'nothing' instead of saying 'just thinking' is because she then would have asked 'about what?'

At that point I would have had to explain that men are deep thinkers about various topics, which would lead to other questions.

Finally I pondered an age old question: Is giving birth more painful than getting kicked in the nuts?

Women always maintain that giving birth is way more painful than a guy getting kicked in the nuts, but how could they "know"?

Well, after another beer, and some more heavy deductive thinking, I have come up with an answer to that question.

Getting kicked in the nuts is more painful than having a baby, and even though I obviously couldn't really "know", here is the reason for my conclusion.

A year or so after giving birth, a woman will often say, "It might be nice to have another child."

On the other hand, you never hear a guy say, "You know, I think I would like another kick in the nuts."

I rest my case.

Time for another beer, and then maybe a nap.

I've had 5 kidney stones in the past 2 years. Yep, just like being kicked in the nuts & having a baby! Couldn't have described it better.
Went to my Urologist, with the first one (5mm) & he said, "No problem, we'll just run a wire up there & blast it." I said, "I don't have insurance." He said, "OK, you're gonna pass it." I did. It took almost 6 weeks. Luckily, the ones that followed were smaller & took only 3-4 weeks each to pass. I have 4 of them in little jars. The last one disintegrated when it came out. I'm hoping I'm done with that. We'll see.

The easiest way to avoid kidney stones is to drink plenty of liquids. This may seem rather daunting however the experience can be made more pleasurable if the liquids contain alcohol. Hic! :cheesy ;) :cheesy :cheesy :Beer :Beer :Beer

1 TBSP of Apple Cider Vinegar & 1 TBSP of raw honey in 8 ounces of water every morning is pretty effective at keeping you from growing more stones & will break down any existing ones, making them much easier to pass, if you feel anything at all. Yes, drinking a lot of fluids is important, but the 84 ounces a day they recommended to me is out of the questions & the apple cider vinegar with honey ain't bad.

It takes years to develop stones of any significant size. Most of us are only now starting to pass stones we started growing when we were in our 20s.

Avoid tea (I know, that's a tough one for you Brits) & milk. The calcium in the milk binds with the oxalates in the tea & makes it collect in the kidneys, where they just keep growing until they rupture out & start down those tiny ureters, which is where most of the pain comes from. If the stones are big enough, there's a risk of infection. Before the 20th century, people died of stones fairly often. It rarely happens today.

Instead of milk, I now use heavy whipping cream, in its place, which is mostly fat & has little calcium. Yes, I'm a big boy... not tall... just big.

:D

I don't drink tea if coffee is available. If not then no milk, no sugar and I can just about stomach it.

With insurance running over $1,000 a month with $10,000 deductibles, it's just stupid to get insurance, unless you have cancer or some other debilitating disease. I'm a big boy. I can handle it & it costs me nothing. More money for ammo.
